We are looking for a Sales & Marketing Manager to lead the international expansion of Swedish Algae Factory’s solutions within the personal care industry.

Swedish Algae Factory is an award-winning young company, founded in 2016 by Angela Wulff, a professor in marine ecology and Sofie Allert, a biotechnical engineer with a master’s in business development. The company was founded with the vision to showcase the power of algae as a raw material and the potential of creating a climate positive business with algae. Swedish Algae Factory has for example been featured on Nytekniks 33-list for new innovative start-up companies two years in a row and won the prestigious global green start-up award Postcode Lotteries Green Challenge in 2019.

Sales & Marketing Manager Expectations

As our Sales and Marketing Manager you will lead our further international expansion, increasing market awareness and sales in the personal care industry. You will work closely with your colleagus, from R&D to CEO. Your role will include business development in interaction with internal and external stakeholders. Your main focus will be on our existing customers, the prospects we have in pipe and building new relations with the markets outside the Nordics.  

Examples of tasks:

  • You will start interacting with existing clients, also map, select and prospect new markets and relations
  • You are responsible for marketing material, interaction with clients, distributors, channels etc
  • You will negotiate agreements/contracts with international relations
  • Be updated with the latest trends and market turns to ensure that we are making the best commercial decisions

The position is located at Swedish Algae Factory’s office and lab in Gothenburg, but travelling to the production plant in Kungshamn as well as to customer meetings, conferences, fairs and expo’s is expected. You will work closely with all colleagues and report directly to the CEO.
 

About you

We believe you are skilled and used to interacting international in sales and business development. We also believe that you are passionate about cooperating, finding solutions together with clients, colleagues and partners, bringing great products to people and solutions with a huge positive impact on the environment.

We need you to be skilled and passionate about expanding sales & marketing, doing it in a start/scale-up setting (with great financial investors onboard). We also believe that you are an optimistic and at the same time analytical person who likes to proactively interact, building new relations and expand existing, finding solutions in collaboration with others as well as working independently from time to time.

Qualifications

  • Sales & Marketing experience outside the Nordics (channel sales, distributors etc)
  • Skilled and interested in growing sales and expanding a smaller organization 
  • Experience from selling high end/value chemicals or personal care ingredients is a plus
  • Fluent English written and spoken, fluent Swedish is advantageous
  • University degree within chemistry or similar is advantageous
